Shards can be collected randomly throughout the dungeon (hidden in chests) and can also be collected by defeating Mini-Bosses and Boss characters from each world.
Shards can also be rewarded by completing the missions of the day. The harder the mission to complete, the rarer the shard that is offered.
Shards are needed in order to unlock additional weapons within the game, as well as skins.
